Our Story
For years, Kyle watched businesses of all sizes rely on simplistic heuristics that "kind of worked." These business leaders often had an intuitive grasp of their strategic and tactical tradeoffs, but they leaned on overly basic metrics that were easy to calculate and understand, yet prone to leading them astray. Kyle saw the consequences of these flawed approaches but held off on acting until a pivotal moment forced his hand.
While working on an experiment, Kyle witnessed the results being manipulated to fit a narrative. The data showed success across the metrics he believed truly mattered, but it fell short on the simplistic metric leadership fixated on. Instead of presenting the full picture and guiding leadership through the real insights, Kyle was pressured to "torture the data" until it aligned with their expectations. The team celebrated, leadership was satisfied, and the misleading report was accepted as truth because they trusted the data had been processed "correctly." But Kyle knew better: the metric they clung to was the wrong one to begin with.
That experience was the breaking point. Kyle founded Ein Insights with a singular mission: to help business leaders make decisions with data they can truly trust. We’re here to take you along for the journey, demystifying what the "data experts" understand even when it’s complex. Our promise to every client is unwavering honesty. Meet Our Founder
Kyle Katzen is the founder of Ein Insights LLC, a data science consultancy built on his deep passion for empowering small businesses through honest, data-driven solutions. With a BBA in Supply Chain Management and a Master of Science in Business Analytics from The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. Kyle brings a robust academic foundation to his work. His 7 years of professional experience further solidify his expertise, beginning with 5 years at Austin startup Affinity Answers, where he built complex matrix factorization and deep learning models on terabytes of social media data to create targeted advertising audiences. He then spent 2 years at Koddi, automating targeting and bidding strategies for businesses of all sizes, from small restaurants to large enterprises.
A proud Texan, Kyle grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and moved to Austin for college at UT, where he’s remained ever since. Throughout his childhood and into college, Kyle dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur, inspired by the idea of building something impactful. However, after talking to many business owners, he initially opted for a less stressful, less risky path in tech, aiming for a stable role as a “techie” working 40 hours a week. But that path left him unfulfilled. Kyle came to a profound realization: to achieve his true goals and reach his full potential, hard work and risk was non-negotiable. That clarity drove him to found Ein Insights in 2025, combining his technical expertise with a lifelong entrepreneurial spirit to help Austin’s SMBs thrive.
Kyle’s journey wasn’t without challenges. Frustrated by seeing businesses misled by simplistic metrics or manipulated data, he set out to create a consultancy that prioritizes transparency and education. At Ein Insights, Kyle ensures every client understands their data’s story, empowering them to make decisions with confidence. When he’s not diving into data, Kyle enjoys exploring Austin’s vibrant local scene, pampering his two dogs and two cats, and singing Frank Sinatra at karaoke.
